Important Information – entry to school in September

22 Aug 2014

As part of our exciting new Riverside school renovation and expansion programme, a lot of work is taking place here during the summer holidays and beyond.

This means you will see some positive changes when you come back to school in September. The foundations for the six new classrooms will have started.

We need to make some changes to the operating of the school during the building work which is expected to last until the spring term next year, so please bear with us during this time. It will all be worth it!

Please note that in order to protect the health and safety of our children, parents and staff, we will have to insist that all parents drop their children at the doors to their classrooms. It will no longer be possible for parents to come into the classrooms at the beginning and end of the day. We will ensure staff are there to take children from you in the mornings and to hand your children back to you at home time.

For all KS2 children please can children arrive at the school through the Donnington Gardens entrance and proceed to their classrooms as they do now.

For all Nursery and KS1 children please can you bring the children through the West Dean entrance or North Town Road entrance and then through the gate to their classrooms. Please be aware that these routes are via staff only car parking so take extra care.

It is advised that for those parents with children in both KS1 and KS2, that all children are brought to the KS1 entrance, and that the KS2 children are then guided by staff across the playground to their KS2 classrooms. We regret that parents will not be able to accompany their children into the school.

The school office will be in a new location which can be approached from the Donnington Gardens entrance only (we will signpost it for you) and parents are kindly requested that should they need to visit the school they do so at the school office during these hours only : 8.30-9.15am or 2.30-3.15pm.

All children from September will need to be in school for lunch (either packed lunch or school lunch), so regrettably children will no longer be able to go home for lunch.

Please note that there continues to be no parent parking and parents are strongly urged to walk their children to school where possible.

We apologise for any inconvenience and we hope you will agree that it is exciting to be part of a growing school that is making such positive progress.
